What can you do?
Sign the Urban Growth Boundary Initiative
If you are a registered voter living within the city limits of Riverbank, you can sign the Riverbank Urban Growth Boundary Initiative. We need the signatures of 10% of the registered voters to put it on the 2024 ballot. This Initiative supports the continuation of Riverbank’s current Western boundary. Stanislaus County and many other communities in the Bay Area and in the Central Valley have passed similar Urban Growth Boundary initiatives.
Such a measure, if passed by the voters, would establish a Western limit to the city where the soils are of the highest quality. This measure will not completely block any efforts to annex and develop the area in the future. However, with the passing of this measure, it will take a majority of Riverbank voters to agree to it.
The Initiative itself can be found in the Document Section. For an opportunity to sign it, or to volunteer to help canvas for signatures look at the Weekly Update section.
