Announcements
It’s official folks! The County certified to Riverbank on August 29th (but we didn’t get the official notice until yesterday afternoon) that we provided more than enough signatures to qualify for the ballot. Thank you again to everyone who helped make this happen! The Modesto Bee has been made aware of this, so hopefully we’ll get some good coverage.
So what happens next? Riverbank will take an item to the Council on Tuesday, Sept. 10. As per the Election Code, they have three options:
- They can adopt the Initiative language in the form of an Ordinance (highly unlikely).
- They can send it on to be placed on the ballot.
- They can conduct an analysis/report on the costs, impacts, etc. If they choose this, it must be completed within 30 days. Even if they choose this option, they will still need to either adopt the language or send it on to be placed on the ballot.
We have also posted the Certificate of Initiative Petition, which was provided by the Stanislaus County Registrar of Voters. This certificate confirms that we have officially qualified for the ballot.
We are eager to see what course of action the Council will take!
